Echoes of Naad delivers a bold fusion of Indian Classical Ragas and contemporary rock, creating an innovative sound that pushes musical boundaries.

Based in Los Angeles, California, this dynamic quartet brings a fresh perspective to cross-cultural music. Randy Hollinger’s virtuosic electric guitar work incorporates traditional sitar techniques, weaving intricate melodic patterns that complement Greg Yancey’s powerful, groove-driven bass lines. Alejandra Arellano’s dynamic drumming forms a solid foundation, expertly blending rock rhythms with classical Indian time signatures, while Kamini Natarajan’s versatile vocals move effortlessly between traditional ragas and modern rock expressions. Together, they craft an immersive musical experience that bridges Eastern and Western musical traditions.

Meet the Band

Kamini Natarajan is one of the leading Indian Classical and kirtan singers. Kamini comes from a family of musicians and started learning Indian classical music at the age of 6. She proceeded to graduate in vocal Hindustani music and currently lives in Simi Valley, CA where she teaches, performs traditional as well as world music. Her music is spiritual, mystical, and simply engaging. In it, she artistically incorporates the traditional Indian ragas and intricate rhythmic patterns known as “taala”, which lift listeners to a higher state of consciousness – a state of pure bliss, away from mundane appearances. Randy Hollinger is a sitarist and guitarist from Los Angeles California, USA. He is a senior disciple of Pt. Indrajit Banerjee of Antara School and is an exponent of the Maihar gharana and a disciple of Pt. Kartick Kumar. 

Awards include 1st place winner in the Sadhana North American Instrumental competition (Ragamal.org), 1st place instrumental winner Shishka competition 2020 and 2021 (USA) and was awarded first position in the Nataraj All Instrumental Competition (Kolkata, IND). Randy’s music has been featured in Kala Darpan music festival (Austin, TX) and Ragamala Lights festival (Seattle, WA). Randy has performed in multiple cities including Seattle, Austin and Los Angeles.

Greg Yancey
